Altai Blue Horizon

After one month of cycling trough Mongolia we reached our final goal Bayan-Ulgii, a Kazakh-Mongolian city in Western Mongolia.

Here we visited another project which we would like to support and introduce to you.

„Altai Blue Horizon“ - a Swiss-Mongolian project that offers one month free education for kids during the summer break.

Together with Baibolat and Inkar a local 15-year-old volunteer, we talked about their project work and how our Ultranicecycling Crowdfunding Project could support their non-profit initative.

Western Mongolia is one of the remotest areas in the whole country and public schools are facing severe financial limitations both in town centers and in rural areas. It‘s almost impossible to compete with private schools, which most families can’t afford. On top there is the 3-month summerbreak which leaves many children without any access to education and deepens the divide of rich and poor and special needs.

Therefore Altai Blue Horizon invented a Programm that enables students in rural areas to continue learning during the long summer break by offering free English and Mongolian classes, workshops, providing learning materials and free meals. The teachers are international and local volunteers, who often bring new ideas, skills and inspiration to the children apart from the formal school system.

In this year summer break 240 children got the chance to attend the programme , which is so great!

The share of our crowdfunding, that ultimately goes to Altai Blue Horizon, will be used to provide 🚲 bicycles 🚲 for the volunteers to commute daily between the schools and their (host) families.
This makes logistics much easier and even more attractive for volunteers because they can move independently. The rest of the money goes straight into the project to enable more children to attend the Education Programm.

The whole Altai Blue Horizon Team which is working on a voluntary basis, does such an important and meaningful job. Therefore we would love to support their work together with your help!
